When is a 1-day Rovinieta worthwhile?
The 1-day Rovinieta is a practical choice for a single transit through Romania or a short one-off trip on national roads and motorways that only requires vignette coverage on one calendar day. It suits drivers passing through the country on their way elsewhere, a short business visit, or a one-day excursion. If your outbound and return journeys fall on different calendar days, compare the cost of two 1-day Rovinietas against a longer-validity option before deciding.
How long is the 1-day Rovinieta valid?
The 1-day Rovinieta is valid only for the selected calendar day, until 23:59 at the latest. If you purchase it for the current day, its validity starts only after the purchase has been confirmed and does not apply retroactively from the beginning of the day. When planning your journey, make sure the selected date covers your entire trip on sections where a Rovinieta is required.
What if your trip runs into a second day?
If your journey continues past midnight or you'll be using Romanian national roads or motorways again the next calendar day, a 1-day rovinieta will not cover that second day and you'll need an additional one. For trips spanning more than a single day, it's usually more convenient - and often cheaper - to choose the 10-day option from the start.
